The weighty maze: Are doctors and scientists free from commercial pressures?

Some of the doctors, researchers and scientists who shape the public's perception of obesity, and what government should do about it, also accept money from companies that profit from weight-loss programs. This has led to the appearance of a conflict of interest and questions about the independance of the research.
