NAAFA Press Release

June 15, 2005

NAAFA Goes to Boston!

Oakland, CA – June 15, 2006:  The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance is a human rights organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for fat people
everywhere.  This year NAAFA returns to the Boston area for our annual convention to encourage and promote size acceptance.

August 9-13, 2006 people of all sizes will come together from every corner of the country to celebrate our size and our lives at this annual fund raising event to be
held at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, 100 Cabot Street, Needham, MA 02494.

The NAAFA convention will begin with a bus tour of the Boston area and will include such activities as private swim parties, a fashion show, a vendor sale, and late night
dancing and entertainment.  Our activism event for this year will include a press conference in support of proposed legislation that will add height and weight to the
anti-discrimination laws in the state of Massachusetts.

NAAFA works to eliminate discrimination based on body size and provide fat people with the tools for self-empowerment through public education, advocacy, and member support.  This year’s convention will encourage people to enjoy Health at Every Size as we participate in workshops and activities such as Water Aerobics, Yoga for Plus-Size Bodies, The Size Savvy Project, Dance for Every Body, and more.  Join us as we celebrate life.
