Oakland, CA – The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance is a human rights organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for fat people everywhere. As the winds of change sweep through our minds, NAAFA has chosen the original "Windy City" for our national 2007 convention. July 10-15, 2007, people of all sizes will come together from every corner of the country to celebrate our lives at this annual fund raising event being held at the Crowne Plaza O'Hare in Rosemont, IL.
We are packing this year's convention full of incredible workshops where people of size can learn to challenge our own thinking, move our bodies, build a network of friends and help change the world. As always, there will be swimming and dancing because we love the freedom we have to move our bodies in an environment free of ridicule and blame. This year our focus will be on “Creating Community”. We will explore ways of growing our chapter network as we believe that this is essential to impact the communities in which we live.
