To assist persons with disabilities (whether permanent or temporary) and their families to recognize and pursue their legal rights, andTo be a resource and referral center for the disability community
The Law Center's legal services include:
- Litigation in federal and state courts
- Administrative proceedings/hearings

The Law Center provides:
- Excellent legal services specializing in the rights and needs of persons with disabilities
- Peer counseling--clients are understood and appreciated by a staff of skilled attorneys, legal assistants and others, most of whom have a disability
- Resource and referral services in areas such as assistive technology, support groups, service organizations, foundations, grants, health care providers, rehabilitation, and more
The Law Center handles:
- Violations of and compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other related federal and state laws
- employment
- places of public accommodation
- reasonable accommodations
- transportation
- communications
- insurance
- Special education issues, including the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Injuries/disability causing events

What is a disability?
"Disability" is defined by law to be:
- Orthopedic, visual, and hearing impairments
- mobility impairments
- cerebral palsy
- epilepsy
- muscular dystrophy
- multiple sclerosis
- cancer
- heart disease
- diabetes
- back and neck injury
- traumatic brain injury
- mental and emotional illness
- learning disabilities

It is currently estimated that there are 50,000,000 people in the United Sates with a disability.
The Law Center, an independent, self-sustaining, for-profit law firm, relies solely on income generated from its legal work to finance its operation. Thus, the disability community's continued support and use of the Law Center will enable it to remain a vigorous advocate for the rights of those with disabilities and their families.
